Dr Daniel Park (Head, Genomic Technology group)
Between 1992 and 1995, Dr. Park read for his undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences at Trinity Hall College, The University of Cambridge. In 1999, through the Department of Biochemistry, he completed his Ph.D. on the genetic engineering of recombinant immunotoxins. Since then, Danny has worked for King’s College Hospital, Genera Biosystems and The University of Melbourne. He has invented and published a multitude of molecular biology and bioinformatic technologies, edited PCR Protocols 3rd Edition for the Springer Methods in Molecular Biology series, taken TGA-certified diagnostics to market and identified clinically-relevant cancer predisposition genes, including RINT1. A notable recent advance has been the development of Hi-Plex, a simple, inexpensive and accurate system for amplicon-based targeted massively parallel sequencing.
